Welcome to Bamburgh Castle Golf Club

Welcome to Bamburgh Castle Golf Club, one of the most beautiful and entertaining golf courses in Britain. We welcome visitors and enquiries from people interested in the club. This site gives information on the course, the club and how to visit us.

We use winter tees from November to the end of March, but otherwise the course is the same and with the exception of snow or unusually heavy rain is playable as normal.

The winter tees are in most cases set out on the normal teeing ground but slightly forward, and the course length is similar to the summer course off the yellow tees; some holes are longer, some shorter.

Green fees in winter are 30 on a weekday and 35 on a Sunday (tee times are not available on a Saturday) and 9 for Juniors under 18.

Our stunning location has often seen the club quoted as one of the most scenic in Britain, and with views such as those above it is little wonder why. Offering views of Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, the Cheviots and of course Bamburgh Castle, the course is one of the truest links experiences to be had in England. The course is lined by gorse, heather, whinstone and rare fauna and has a unique series of opening holes with back to back par 3s followed by two excellent par 5s. While not the longest course, amounting to just over 5,600 yards, it is a demanding par 68 although there are birdie opportunities especially on the way home with three par 4s under 300 yards for you to savour.

With a friendly clubhouse serving good food, Bamburgh Castle is a perfect getaway for societies and casual visitors, testing golfers of every level.

The Course

Over winter, we are carrying out the main phase of our clubhouse refurbishment and extension: this will involve the construction of new male changing rooms and kitchen. Bar and catering facilities will be open throughout the work. Regular progress updates will be available on the members' area of this website.

We are grateful to the organisations who have sponsored us as part of our effort to refurbish the clubhouse. Their details can be found here.
